What a month
May in Hossegor & Seignosse: One Hell of a Month
If there’s one thing we’ve learned after all these years on the French Atlantic coast, it’s that the ocean doesn’t care about your plans.
May threw absolutely everything at us. Rain, wind, huge surf, sunshine, a heatwave, and a few of those magic days that remind you exactly why you moved your life next to the ocean in the first place.
We welcomed a great mix of guests from all over Europe. Some stood up on their first proper green waves. Others got their share of pumping beach-break sessions when the banks and conditions lined up. Like always, every week had its own story.
The reality of surfing in Hossegor, Seignosse and Capbreton is that no two days are ever the same. That’s why we spend so much time checking forecasts, tides, winds and banks. Sometimes it means changing plans, loading boards into cars and driving around looking for the best option. That’s not a problem for us. That’s surfing.
This month was a perfect example.
There were days when the ocean was simply too powerful to teach safely. There were days when a protected corner delivered fun little waves while everywhere else was closing out. There were days when the crew surfed until their shoulders gave up and days when we sat around drinking coffee, talking surf and waiting for the tide to change.
That’s life here.
Away from the beach, we managed to keep our social traditions alive as well. We checked out the opening of Kbane at the Seignosse Golf Club, shared plenty of meals together, and continued our weekly ritual of darts, pool and a few cold beers at the Tiger Club.
Because a surf trip isn’t just about surfing.
It’s about meeting people from different countries. Watching sunsets with sandy feet. Sharing stories over dinner. Laughing at wipeouts. Scoring a wave you’ll remember for years. And sometimes just being in the right place when everything comes together.
For us, that’s what makes Seignosse and Hossegor special. Not just the world-class waves, but the lifestyle that comes with them.
May had a bit of everything. It was challenging, fun, chaotic at times, and absolutely worth it.
And honestly, we wouldn’t want it any other way.
As we often say at Surfcamp Seignosse…
Where were you?

Surf. Eat. Sleep. Repeat. And when the conditions change, adapt and go again tomorrow. That’s how we’ve been doing it for over twenty years. 🌊🏄♂️🍻☀️
