Your Questions, Answered

  • From the first spring swells to the last warm autumn sessions, we’re open from 28 March to 24 October 2026.

  • Minimum Stay Policy

We have a minimum stay of 4 nights, which helps the house run smoothly and gives everyone the time to settle in, connect, and become part of the experience.

Please note that between 25 June and 25 September, we operate on a weekly-only basis. During this period, stays are booked Saturday to Saturday, except in exceptional circumstances. This is the heart of the season, and weekly stays allow us to maintain the rhythm, atmosphere, and quality of the experience for all guests.

Our camp is not a backpacker-style stopover. It’s a place to slow down, surf, and share meaningful time together — and these minimum stays are essential to making that experience meaningful.

For stays shorter than one week (outside the period 25 June to 26 September), pricing is calculated as follows:

the weekly rate divided by 7, multiplied by the number of nights, plus a 10% supplement.

Weekly bookings benefit from the best value and are always prioritised during the season.

  • We like to keep things simple — you don’t need much.

    • Swimwear (you’ll use it a lot)

    • Comfortable clothes for relaxing, yoga, and evenings

    • Warm layers for early mornings and sunset sessions

    • Flip-flops or sandals

    • Sunscreen

    • A reusable water bottle

Shower towels and bed linen are, of course, included, so there’s no need to bring your own.

If you have personal surf gear (wetsuit or board), you’re welcome to bring it, but it’s absolutely not necessary — everything you need can be provided on site.

Most importantly, bring an open mind, a relaxed attitude, and a readiness to enjoy the rhythm of the ocean and camp life.

  • It’s a loaded question — and the honest answer is simple: whenever you can get the time off.

If you don’t live next to the ocean, any time spent surfing is the right time. As one guest once said, “A bad day of surfing is still better than a good day at work.” We couldn’t agree more.

Early season — April & May

Early season has a special energy. The water is cooler and the weather can be changeable, but the beaches are quiet and everyone is excited to be back in the ocean. There’s space, time, and a slower rhythm — perfect for reconnecting with surfing and yourself.

    Late May to mid-July

This is often the golden goose. Days are long, sunsets stretch past 8 p.m., and there’s plenty of time for everything outdoors. Crowds are still low, and on the right days you’ll find empty peaks. It’s a rare balance of warmth, light, and freedom.

    Main season

This is where the fun really happens. Summer brings heat, warm water, and energy everywhere. Mornings in a shorty, afternoons in boardshorts or bikinis, and something happening every night. Hossegor and Seignosse are alive — and for many, there’s simply no better place to be in summer.

    Late September to October

Crowds fade, the water stays warm, and the swells start to pulse. With the Quiksilver Festival in the air, the coast feels alive yet relaxed. We chase clean lines, head south to Hendaye on the right days, and stretch summer as long as possible. It’s the ultimate way to cheat winter.

    By Train

Travelling by train is a convenient option from across Europe. Tickets can usually be booked up to three months in advance, and we recommend booking early, as seat reservations are mandatory on the TGV (France’s high-speed train).

All routes generally travel via Paris. The nearest stations are:

    • Dax

    • Saint-Vincent-de-Tyrosse

    • Bayonne

    By Plane

The closest airports to the camp are Bordeaux and Biarritz, both well connected to cities across Europe.

Direct flights are available from many European destinations, though prices vary by season. A popular and cost-effective option is to fly with low-cost airlines to major hubs (such as London) and then connect to Biarritz or Bordeaux.

    Rental Cars

Hiring a car in France is simple and affordable, with prices starting from around €150 per week. There are several options locally with Super U and E.Leclerc

  • Lunch is not included in the stay. In line with long-standing surf camp and company policy, guest access to the kitchen is not permitted. This policy exists for health and safety reasons, and more importantly to ensure the smooth, clean, and respectful running of the shared kitchen and living areas. Experience has shown that shared kitchen use by many guests quickly becomes unmanageable and detracts from the overall atmosphere of the house.

Of course, snacks are allowed. Guests are simply asked to store them personally and to ensure that all packaging and waste is disposed of immediately.

For lunch, there are several easy and convenient options nearby. The Pure Surf Café, located directly downstairs, offers affordable, ready-to-go meals and looks after our guests like family.

Please note that personal food is not permitted on the café terrace, as this is a commercial space shared with external guests and locals. Personal snacks may be enjoyed upstairs or in the back garden.

This approach allows us to maintain a relaxed, well-run environment and focus on what really matters — surfing, sharing good moments, and enjoying your time with us.
