Thursday Nights at Pure Surf Camp Seignosse: Where Barbecue Smoke Meets Good Vibes

There’s something special about Thursday nights at Pure Surf Camp Seignosse. Maybe it’s the smell of the barbecue drifting through the garden, the sound of boards drying in the sun, or the way everyone naturally gathers together after a full week of waves, laughter, and sandy feet. It’s the night where the whole camp slows down, relaxes, and reconnects — a little weekly ritual that has quietly become one of the highlights of our surf season.

The photo you see here was taken just after one of those evenings.

The plates were empty, the sun was dipping low, and everyone had settled into that perfect end-of-day calm. Someone put on some music, someone else topped up a glass, and all around the garden you could hear soft conversations drifting into the warm Seignosse night.

That evening felt even more special because of Lisa.

Lisa had been training hard all week. She had a major competition coming up the following weekend, and during the barbecue she opened up about her goals, her nerves, her hopes — all the things that make surfing more than just a sport: a journey, a challenge, a way to grow. The whole group listened, encouraged her, shared stories, and built her up with that easy, natural support that only happens in places where everyone feels at home.

And the best part?

She won.

The following week, she absolutely smashed it.

Somewhere in that relaxed Thursday-night circle, in between the laughs and the grilled veggies and the clink of bottles, she found the confidence she needed to step up and perform.

Maybe that’s what makes these evenings so unique.

It’s not just the barbecue — it’s the connection. The way total strangers become friends, how the camp energy shifts into something warm and intimate, and how moments like these remind us why we love running this place. It’s about surfing, yes… but it’s also about everything that happens between the sessions.

If you’re planning your stay with us, make sure you’re here on a Thursday.

Bring your appetite, your best stories, and your favourite hoodie for when the night cools down. You never know who you’ll meet — or what part of your surf journey will come alive next.
